The Kennedy Center

Music Education Intern
Washington National Opera and General Music Education

Department description

The Kennedy Center Music Education programs introduce young people, families, and adults to genres including, but not limited to, opera, jazz, classical and new music, hip-hop, and electronic music by presenting specially designed live performances and events; developing and promoting talented young people through training programs and competitions; and creating and distributing digital and written resources. The Intern assists staff with all Music Education projects, with particular focus on Washington National Opera programs including the Kids Create Opera Program, WNO Young Associates, WNO Opera Institute, and other events for all ages. We are looking for a passionate individual who believes in the power of music to inspire and enrich one’s life. We seek a creative, detail-oriented and organized individual interested in arts management and arts education both in and outside of the classroom. Intern may have the opportunity to observe classrooms and rehearsals.
