Theater for Young Audiences

Kennedy Center Theater for Young Audiences (KCTYA) commissions, produces, presents and tours a wide variety of productions for young people. We are looking for a passionate individual who wishes to help create quality theatrical experiences for young people. We value creativity, open-mindedness, and a sense of play!

National Tour

Intern will contribute to the weekly logistical life of a national tour, including processing tour-related financial documents, organizing materials for company on tour, and communicating with stage management regarding company needs.


Intern will gain a deeper understanding of the logistics and coordination of national festivals. This will include several weeks with Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival's national festival. Additionally, over the whole term, the intern will work on assisting in company and administrative management of New Visions/New Voices, KCTYA's workshop/conference in developing new plays for young audiences.

Company Management

Intern will gain an understanding of company management through TYA presented and produced shows. More specifically, the intern will be responsible for hospitality and travel arrangements, as well as administrative and on-site assistance to the rehearsal team(s).
