Department description

Kennedy Center Theater for Young Audiences (KCTYA) commissions, produces, and presents productions for young people and families. The intern participates fully in the administrative life of a producing and presenting organization. The intern's varied duties include assisting with production meetings, auditions, artist hospitality, technical rehearsals, scheduling, contracts, Playbill, sales analysis, commissions research, season planning, and budgeting.

Project description

Assisting with the preparation of the Spring 2019 Theater for Young Audiences season which includes 2 produced shows, 2 co-commissions, and 1 presentation. Projects would include: editing, updating, and compiling artist information forms; creating a contact list, assisting with artist contracts, calendars, script development, travel logistics, and casting; etc.

Assisting in the planning of the 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 Theater for Young Audiences seasons through researching possible commissions and reviewing press kits from outside artistic companies for possible bookings.
