PAFE/Community Engagement Marketing & Production Intern

Department description

The Kennedy Center Artistic Programming Community Engagement team produces approximately 400 shows a year. A large portion is Millennium Stage, the Center's daily, free performance series. Millennium Stage embodies the Kennedy Center's mission is to connect and engage artists and audiences across America and around the world to share, inspire, and celebrate our cultural heritage. We aim to welcome all to create, experience, learn about the performing arts in our multicultural world. The programming is designed to be as inclusive as possible, and accessible without financial or geographical barriers. It is streamed on our website, YouTube, and Facebook Live, with a regular online audience of more than 5,000 people, often more, and archived for future viewing. We are seeking two creative, young visionaries to join our team for a semester and help us in shaping the future.

Project description

The intern will develop proficiencies in the areas of press and marketing through collecting artist publicity materials including biographies and photos, and routing and editing ads. The intern will assist in designing social media campaigns, as well as facilitate website management. The intern will also support in areas of coordinating show production, including running performances which require both stage and house management skills.
