Special Events Intern

Department description

The Kennedy Center Special Events Department is responsible for the execution of all events that occur within the Development Department of the Center. From donor-invited dress rehearsals of the Washington National Opera and Cast Parties to the Mark Twain Prize and Kennedy Center Honors, Special Events follows these fundraising events through from inception to completion.

Project description

The Special Events Intern will assist the team with the completion of the Kennedy Center's annual Fireworks on the Fourth celebration and other events throughout the summer. The intern will also learn daily office tasks such as managing the r.s.v.p. lines for events and organizing mailings. At the end of the semester, the intern will have the opportunity to work one-on-one with a Special Events Team Member to complete a small-sized event and will be responsible for creating the event design and managing the event logistics.
