The Kennedy Center

Music Education Intern
Washington National Opera

Department description

The Kennedy Center Music Education programs introduce young people, families, and adults to genres including, but not limited to, opera, jazz, classical and new music, hip-hop, and electronic music by presenting live performances and events; developing and promoting aspiring young artist through training programs; and creating and distributing supplemental resources. The Intern assists staff with all Music Education projects, with a focus on Washington National Opera Education programs including Kids Create Opera, Young Associates, and Opera Institute. We seek a creative, detail-oriented and organized individual interested in arts management and arts education outside of the classroom. Intern may have the opportunity to observe workshops, rehearsals, and performances, and classrooms. No genre-specific experience is necessary. Some evening and weekend work required.
