Data and Analytics Intern

Department description

The Information Technology department supports all departments in the Kennedy Center by providing systems and technology to support all areas of the operations. The Data & Analytics team in particular supports the tools and data that is provided to Marketing, Development, Education, Finance and many other departments to allow them to make data-driven decisions. We analyze, clean, and prepare data for a very wide variety of projects and are leveraging tools such as Tableau, SSRS, R, and more to support self-service analytics to our data analysts.

Project description

We are seeking a data & analytics intern that is detail-oriented, self-motivated, and interested in understanding how data is leveraged to make business decisions in a world-class arts organization.

The intern will help support some of our data cleansing projects - pulling and analyzing areas where our source systems contain inconsistencies, helping to understand options for correcting this data and processes, both technical and business to maintain clean data in the future.

The intern will also help to support users of the data by providing documentation that helps to provide definitions and context for common data sets.

There may be other opportunities to provide data analysis on a small subset of data or do some predictive modeling of data as projects are defined.

The right candidate will possess SQL skill and experience working with both transactional data as well as dimensional models, will have a investigative approach to projects and interest in the arts.
