Department description

The IT department provides and supports a variety of applications, systems and tools to staff, performers, patrons and other constituents to enable its mission to be accomplished. Operating within the IT department, the Enterprise Systems and Projects team is responsible for supporting and enhancing the suite of business applications, including CRM systems for event ticketing and fundraising, artistic venue management software, and ERP system for HRM and finance. This team also sets and promotes project management best practices across the larger IT department and stakeholder groups. We are passionate about our mission and support it by ensuring the success of a wide range of user groups including artistic programming, education, ticketing, fundraising, marketing, finance, production and facilities. Our goal is to enable a superior patron experience, maximize the performance and efficiency of user departments, optimize cost and maintain maximum availability, reliability and accuracy.

Project description

This internship will provide know-how in managing the business systems that are essential to arts administration. Intern will be in charge of designing training program and developing training materials of the ticketing/fundraising system and venue management system. This will require the intern to gain thorough understanding of the software and its business usage through working with a wide range of users of these systems, and to gain hands-on experience in technical writing.

The intern will also have the opportunity to participate in at least one project either relating to website development or business system implementation/upgrade. S/he can both observe project management and quality control best practice in action through this experience as well as contribute to the continuous improvement of related protocols. Intern will be coached and work closely with Director of Business Systems, Business Systems Administrators, and Technical Project Managers.
